Tim Tate has come a long way since the founding days of NCAGG. Join us on April 18th at 2pm when he shows images from that time, as well as his newest works from Glasstress with Ai Weiwei and the Venice Biennale
Tim Tate is Co-Founder of the Washington Glass School and Studio. His work is in the permanent collections of a number of museums, including the Smithsonian's American Art Museum and the Mint Museum. He is the subject of several articles in American Style, American Craft, and Sculpture magazines, as well as the Washington Post and Times newspaper reviews. Tim was also the 2010 recipient of the $35,000 Virginia Groot Foundation award for sculpture. Tim’s work blends traditional craft with new media technology. In recent works he combines moving images and mirrors to achieve what he calls his “interest in contemporary work with the aesthetic of Victorian techno-fetishism.”
The Board Meeting immediately follows, at 3:30 pm. All members are welcome to attend.
