Bob Leatherbarrow What’s It All About?
Bob, a Canadian, has been working with kilnformed glass for over 30 years and has transitioned from being an exploration geologist with a glass “hobby” to a full-time glass artist immersed in a creative community. Three common paths he has followed on his journey are: creating textures and design components using blended glass powders; exploring new ideas through regular “self imposed residencies”; and, understanding the properties of glass to achieve unique styles. A major part of Bob’s involvement with glass has been ongoing commitment to education through teaching international workshops, writing e-books and magazine articles, and recording instructional videos.
A common question for artists is … what’s it all about? Bob addresses this age-old question by describing his background, influences, and artwork. Join him as he reveals his transformation from corporate culture to creative passion.
