Kari Minnick: Approaching Abstraction II

Monday, December 14th – 7pm: Kari Minnick: Approaching Abstraction: A painterly perspective meets a sculptural medium.

Due to a power outage during Kari’s first presentation attempt on July 19th Kari generously rescheduled to this 12/14. Kari will present images of her recent series of glass art, the influences and inspiration behind them, as well as how they came to fruition. She will also discuss how her work in other media continues to play a role in her glasswork.

Kari Minnick, a multi-disciplinary artist, owns and operates Kari Minnick Art Studio in Southern Oregon. She produces architectural commissions, fine art and introduces artists from other media to kiln-glass. Her glasswork has won several prestigious awards and is held internationally in private, corporate and embassy collections.

Minnick began her career as a painter; earning a degree in studio art from the University of California at Davis. An exhibiting artist and dynamic educator, Kari shows her work and teaches her signature classes internationally.  Kari will present images of her recent series of glass art, the influences and inspiration behind them, as well as how they came to fruition. She will also discuss how her work in other media continues to play a role in her glasswork.
