Carolyn Swann Needell, the curator of the glass collection at the Chrylser Museum in Norfolk, Virginia, will kick of 2021 for the National Capital Art Glass Guild as the speaker for our Zoom member meeting on January 17, 2021 at 2:00pm. Dr. Needell will be discussing the museum's exhibit, Clear As Crystal: Colorless Glass at the Chrysler Museum, which opens December 26, 2020. Clear As Crystal explores the allure of colorless glass by showcasing contemporary artworks and historical objects from within the Museum’s permanent collection that are made exclusively with colorless glass. The works on view reveal the wide array of techniques that artists have used to capitalize on the aesthetic and intellectual opportunities offered by clear, colorless glass.
A link to the Zoom presentation will be sent in early January to NCAGG members via the Guild's email listserv.
