I have a great appreciation for art and the spontaneous, creative process behind it. In 2000, I first started dabbling in art glass with flame working and fusing. I now like to create pieces that include both methods and I enjoy working in layers and getting different levels and styles of texture.

I am a natural-born analyst and the science of manipulating glass into art intrigues me. I find that glass is very adaptable yet so exact. It will do what it wants to do, no matter how much I plan for a particular outcome. It presents many surprises, and therefore, a constant challenge.

Recently, I discovered Precious Metal Clay (PMC), a fine silver mixed with a bonding agent. Since I love jewelry and love glass, and the two require a kiln and/or torch and work well together, it was a natural fit. I also like to mix mediums and this venue gives me that option with satisfying results: wearable art!

I like that I’m able to do lots of different things with glass and enjoy making functional pieces that can be used every day. I find inspiration in nature and other forms of art such as painting, sculpture, and architecture and especially enjoy making jewelry, wall art, and sculptures.
