My interest in glass was first sparked in 1998, while living in Montana, when I was
introduced to contemporary lampworking/flameworking. I then moved to South Lake Tahoe,
California, to study. As the new millennium began I returned home to Virginia and
continued to hone my skills and explore new techniques and styles.
I have a reputation in the glass world as a perfectionist. The creation of
each piece is a test of whether I can create the exact image envisioned in his mind.
In 2004, I decided it was
time to fulfill one of my goals - to create a clean and comfortable flameworking studio
and provide instruction, guidance, and support to lampworkers of all skill levels in the
greater Washington, DC area. And more importantly, I wanted to continue to improve my own
torchwork. I took the leap of faith along with my two partners and started New Dynasty
Glass.
