Glass is a preferred medium among my artistic expressions - it is innately light in motion to me. Just as nearly every living thing pursues the light and reacts to its movement, so does the eye of the artist.

This movement of light fascinates and seduces me, whether it is expressed figuratively in pieces where shimmering and iridescent layers of color and shadow are put into motion as the light passes through them, or in the more abstract pieces which seek to depict the energy of light in motion, or opaque work done in the classic mosaic style.

My work is driven by a fascination with the aspects of fire and ice inherent in fused glass. The flame encounters the icy sheet of raw glass and makes it yield its crystalline treasure. The glass enters the kiln and is transformed. A new light is reborn in the finished piece - almost a microcosm of creation. It is an intense transition that amazes and delights me. The possibilities of expression through glass are endless and challenging.
