Challenging political and social ideas about how we are perceived and how we view each other is at the core of my recent work. These glass pieces are made using: original photography; digitally printed and kiln-fired minerals; multiple layers of Bullseye transparent and translucent sheet glass, and finely ground glass. Combining glass and photography, as I have done, communicates a message in a manner unavailable in each medium on its own. Working with layers of low-fired frit, I can recreate the dimensional light in the image in much the same way I see it just before I press the shutter on the camera. More
